Are you seeking to extend your time underwater? Perhaps you’re a scientific diver or photographer aiming to prolong your dives?

The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course enables divers to utilize enriched air nitrox ranging from EAN 21 to EAN 100 percent within their existing certification level, allowing dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters/130 feet without staged decompression.

Frequently paired with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this serves as the cornerstone of your technical diving journey. TDI Advanced Nitrox is indispensable for SCR or CCR divers as well.

  • Certified nitrox divers aiming to enhance their comprehension of nitrox mixtures with over 40% oxygen content
  • Certified nitrox divers seeking to refine their in-water proficiency
  • Certified divers interested in advancing their technical diving education
  • Minimum age of 18, or 15 with parental consent
  • Certification as a TDI Nitrox Diver or equivalent
  • Documentation of 25 logged open water dives

The Advanced Nitrox course builds upon the foundation laid by the TDI Nitrox course and delves deeper into the intricacies of diving with nitrox, covering:

  • Physics and physiology related to diving with gas mixtures containing over 40% oxygen
  • Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen and nitrogen limitations
  • Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, nitrox mixture analysis, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for gases with over 40% oxygen content

Participants will practice various skills, including:

  • Demonstrating buoyancy control by hovering in a fixed position without hand or foot movements
  • Maintaining awareness of buddy and team members through effective communication and dive practices
  • Managing free flow from the primary regulator, shutting down the cycle, and switching to the backup regulator
  • Performing a safety stop while maintaining neutral buoyancy
  • Sharing air with a buddy in a controlled manner, both as recipient and donor, while maintaining position in the water column
  • Maintaining correct body position and trim, such as horizontal/streamlined movement
  • Conducting stress analysis with self and dive buddy

Upon completion, participants gain the ability to dive using EAN 21 through 100 percent oxygen under conditions similar to their training. They also become eligible to enroll in TDI Decompression Procedures, TDI Semi-closed Rebreather courses, and TDI Closed Circuit Rebreather courses.

  • Successful completion of the TDI Advanced Nitrox course and written examination
